Easter Renewal Spring Appeal 2025 - $35,000 Matching Challenge!
Our Annual Easter Renewal Matching Challenge begins Easter Sunday, April 20th, and will go through the Fourth Sunday of Easter, May 11th. We are grateful to the foundation that made a $35,000 matching challenge possible.
When I arrived at the St. Thomas More Newman Center a year ago, I was struck by the number of students searching —burdened by anxiety, longing for direction, and hungry for something more.
One evening, a student-athlete pulled into our parking lot in tears, her face heavy with uncertainty. “Everything okay?” I asked.
“Yes!” she said. “I finally have clarity on what the Lord is inviting me into. All I want to do is serve the poor with my life!”
Right there in the parking lot, in an impromptu moment, I was able to guide her through spiritual direction. That’s God at work. These moments are why the Newman Center exists—to meet students in their ponderings and struggles, connect them with authentic relationships, and lead them to Jesus. This kind of transformation doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because students are discovering real community and, ultimately, Christ. Humbly, I am privileged to walk with these students toward Christ and the adventure of life He has for them.
Over spring break, I watched as students climbed the Holy Stairs in Rome—the very steps Jesus walked on His way to His trial. Some were weeping as they prayed. It was a powerful reminder: God’s love changes hearts.
God has moved in so many powerful ways this year. Nearly 400 students are in Bible studies this year. Another 25 are preparing for confirmation this Easter, including 7 baptisms—bringing the total to 50 confirmations in just two years. Thanks be to God!
This Easter season, we have a $35,000 matching grant, and every gift—including yours—will help us reach this goal. Our challenge begins on April 20th, Easter Sunday, and runs through May 11th, the Fourth Sunday of Easter.
